The top has an anatomical tongue construction that folds easily and nicely around the ankle. The shoe fits relatively tight and gives the flexible feeling worthy of a racing flat. The entire section is somewhat stiffened to provide the support you need when the speed is turned up.
The Hoka One One Rocket X has the lightest foam in the midsole to date and, together with the carbon plate, it gives you an energetic and stable step from landing to kick-off. The powerful Meta-rocker (arch) in the sole also helps to get you forward on the middle and forefoot to maintain momentum and get you from A to Z as quickly as possible.
The outer sole has saved some on the wear parts to keep the weight down. However, they are strategically placed to preserve durability as best as possible. The Hoka One One Rocket X is perfectly suited for distances from 5 km to marathons. Thrives best on asphalt, track and mill. The shoe can also withstand some trips on gravel roads, but this will reduce the lifespan of the sole.
