The middle mitten is a knitted woolen mitten developed together with the Norwegian Armed Forces. This is used as an intermediate layer and provides insulating protection. The fibers are tall to make the mitt more airy and provide better insulation. The wool ensures that the mitten still insulates even when it gets wet. However, make sure that the mitt does not get soiled with oil and dirt, then it will lose its properties.
