The Hoka One One Tecton X has been named after the tectonic plates in the outer part of the earth's crust that have inspired the carbon plates. It brings a number of elements from the new asphalt models into the off-road shoe segment. Two parallel carbon plates are encased in the midsole. They stiffen the model and, together with a rocker shape, provide a more efficient step unfolding. Since two plates have been inserted, these can be moved independently of each other. It provides better stability in rough terrain. The model's rocker is not as aggressive as in the asphalt models and it does not feel as fast as them. ProFly foam midsole provides low weight and good shock absorption. Outsole of Vibram Megagrip with a LiteBase construction provides low weight and good grip on wet rocks and roots. The rubber has been removed in parts of the sole to save weight. Upper part in light mesh without seams with extra toe protection for shins and roots.

The Hoka One One Tecton X is a solid all-rounder in the terrain. It is suitable for calm and faster trips of varied length. Also for competitions. Comes into its own best on level ground.
